Ingredients
- Granulated sugar1 1/3 cups
- Water1 1/4 cups
- Instant espresso powder1/4 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder1 teaspoon
- Vodka1 1/3 cups
- Brandy2/3 cup
- Vanilla beans, split lengthwise2
Instructions
- 1Heat sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 2Stir until dissolved.
- 3Stir in espresso powder and cocoa.
- 4Bring just to a boil.
- 5Remove from heat.
- 6Off heat, add vodka and brandy.
- 7Stir.
- 8Place split vanilla beans in a 1-quart glass jar.
- 9Pour the mixture over the beans.
- 10Seal the jar.
- 11Steep in a cool dark place for 1–2 months.
- 12Shake weekly.
- 13Strain when mellowed.
