Ingredients
- tequila blanco2 oz
- fresh lime juice1.5 oz
- Cointreau (triple sec)0.5 oz
- spicy tamarind syrup (see below)1.5 oz
- Tajn or chili-salt for rim (optional)to taste
Instructions
- 1Combine water, sugar, tamarind concentrate/paste, and crushed dried bird's-eye chiles in a small saucepan.
- 2Bring just to a boil.
- 3Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- 4Cool completely.
- 5Strain the syrup.
- 6Bottle the syrup.
- 7Chill the syrup before use.
- 8Rim a rocks glass with Tajín or chili-salt.
- 9Fill the glass with ice.
- 10Add tequila, lime juice, Cointreau, and spicy tamarind syrup to a shaker with ice.
- 11Shake well.
- 12Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
- 13Garnish with a lime wedge.
