- tequila blanco2 oz
- fresh lime juice1.5 oz
- Cointreau (triple sec)0.5 oz
- spicy tamarind syrup (see below)1.5 oz
- Tajn or chili-salt for rim (optional)to taste
👨🍳Instructions
- Combine water, sugar, tamarind concentrate/paste, and crushed dried bird's-eye chiles in a small saucepan.
- Bring just to a boil.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Cool completely.
- Strain the syrup.
- Bottle the syrup.
- Chill the syrup before use.
- Rim a rocks glass with Tajín or chili-salt.
- Fill the glass with ice.
- Add tequila, lime juice, Cointreau, and spicy tamarind syrup to a shaker with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
