Ingredients
  • Fresh lemon juice1¼ cups (about 5–7 medium lemons)
  • Cane sugar (or white sugar)1¼ cups
  • Lemon½ large lemon, sliced
  • Water2 cups, divided
  • Fresh blackberries2 cups
  • Ice4 cups
  • Additional cold waterto top up to 2 quarts
Instructions
  1. 1Juice lemons.
  2. 2Strain to get 1¼ cups juice.
  3. 3Combine lemon juice, sugar, 1 cup water, and lemon slices in a small saucepan.
  4. 4Heat over medium-low until the sugar dissolves and the slices turn translucent (12–15 minutes).
  5. 5Blend the blackberries with 1 cup cold water.
  6. 6Strain to remove seeds.
  7. 7Stir the strained blackberry juice into the warm lemon mixture.
  8. 8Add 4 cups ice to a 2-quart pitcher.
  9. 9Pour the lemon-blackberry mixture over the ice.
  10. 10Add cold water to make 2 quarts.
  11. 11Serve cold.
