Ingredients
- Fresh lemon juice1¼ cups (about 5–7 medium lemons)
- Cane sugar (or white sugar)1¼ cups
- Lemon½ large lemon, sliced
- Water2 cups, divided
- Fresh blackberries2 cups
- Ice4 cups
- Additional cold waterto top up to 2 quarts
Instructions
- 1Juice lemons.
- 2Strain to get 1¼ cups juice.
- 3Combine lemon juice, sugar, 1 cup water, and lemon slices in a small saucepan.
- 4Heat over medium-low until the sugar dissolves and the slices turn translucent (12–15 minutes).
- 5Blend the blackberries with 1 cup cold water.
- 6Strain to remove seeds.
- 7Stir the strained blackberry juice into the warm lemon mixture.
- 8Add 4 cups ice to a 2-quart pitcher.
- 9Pour the lemon-blackberry mixture over the ice.
- 10Add cold water to make 2 quarts.
- 11Serve cold.
