Ingredients
- Purple basil (fresh)1 bunch
- Boiling water3 liters
- Granulated sugar1 cup (adjust to taste)
- Fresh lemon juicejuice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- 1Wash the purple basil.
- 2Dry the purple basil.
- 3Place the basil in a deep pot or heatproof container.
- 4Pour boiling water over the basil.
- 5Let it steep until the liquid cools to room temperature.
- 6Remove and discard the basil.
- 7Add the lemon juice and sugar.
- 8Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- 9Strain the liquid.
- 10Chill thoroughly.
- 11Serve over ice.
