Ingredients
  • Purple basil (fresh)1 bunch
  • Boiling water3 liters
  • Granulated sugar1 cup (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh lemon juicejuice of 1 lemon
Instructions
  1. 1Wash the purple basil.
  2. 2Dry the purple basil.
  3. 3Place the basil in a deep pot or heatproof container.
  4. 4Pour boiling water over the basil.
  5. 5Let it steep until the liquid cools to room temperature.
  6. 6Remove and discard the basil.
  7. 7Add the lemon juice and sugar.
  8. 8Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  9. 9Strain the liquid.
  10. 10Chill thoroughly.
  11. 11Serve over ice.
