Ingredients
- Dried culinary lavender1 tablespoon
- Fresh basil, roughly chopped (plus more for garnish)3/4 cup
- Honey (or coconut/granulated sugar)1/3–1/2 cup
- Water5 cups (divided: 2 cups + 3 cups)
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice1 cup
- Icefor serving
Instructions
- 1Bring lavender and 2 cups water to a boil in a small saucepan.
- 2If using granulated or coconut sugar, add it to the water as it heats.
- 3Remove from heat.
- 4Add basil.
- 5Cover.
- 6Steep 10 minutes.
- 7Add lemon juice to a pitcher.
- 8Stir in honey (unless sugar was added earlier).
- 9Add remaining 3 cups water.
- 10Strain the lavender–basil infusion into the pitcher.
- 11Stir.
- 12Adjust with additional water or honey to taste.
- 13Chill.
- 14Serve over crushed ice.
