Ingredients
  • Water (cold or room temperature)4 cups
  • Lemon juice (from 2 small–medium lemons, or 3 small limes)about 6 Tbsp, to taste
  • Sugar (raw or white; jaggery optional)6–8 Tbsp, to taste
  • Roasted cumin powder1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala1/2–1 tsp, to taste
  • Black salt (kala namak) or regular salt1/4 tsp
  • Black or white pepper (optional)1/4 tsp
  • Mint leaves (garnish, optional)3–4 leaves
Instructions
  1. 1Combine water and freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice in a jar or bowl.
  2. 2Add sugar, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, black salt, and pepper (if using).
  3. 3Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is combined.
  4. 4Taste.
  5. 5Adjust sweetness, salt, and spice.
  6. 6Serve.

Pro Tip

  • Garnish with mint.
  • Add ice if desired.
  • Pepper is optional.
