- Rye whiskey (Sazerac Rye preferred)1.5 oz
- Sugar cube1 cube
- Peychaud’s Bitters3 dashes
- Herbsaint (for rinse)0.25 oz
- Lemon peel1 twist
👨🍳Instructions
- Pack an Old-Fashioned glass with ice to chill.
- Place a sugar cube in a second Old-Fashioned glass.
- Add Peychaud’s Bitters.
- Crush to dissolve the sugar.
- Add rye whiskey.
- Add ice.
- Stir to chill.
- Discard the ice from the first glass.
- Add Herbsaint to coat the inside of the first glass.
- Discard the excess Herbsaint.
- Strain the whiskey–bitters–sugar mixture into the Herbsaint-rinsed glass.
- Express a lemon peel over the drink.
- Garnish with the peel.
