Ingredients
  • Fermented millet (mandokpenaa thee / jaand; made from finger millet with starter such as khesung/murcha)Enough to fill the tongba vessel about two-thirds full.
  • Boiling hot waterTo top up over the fermented millet; refill as desired.
Instructions
  1. 1Place fermented millet into a tongba vessel.
  2. 2Pour boiling water over the grains to the brim.
  3. 3Let steep for a few minutes.

Pro Tip

  • Sip through a straw with a small filter to keep grains out.
  • Refill with hot water several times until the flavor and strength fade.
