Ingredients
  • Egg yolks6
  • Sugar1/4 cup
  • Milk2 cups
  • Light rum1/2 cup
  • Bourbon1/2 cup
  • Vanilla extract1 tsp
  • Salt1/4 tsp
  • Whipping cream1 cup
  • Egg whites6
  • Sugar1/4 cup
  • Ground nutmegto taste, for garnish
Instructions
  1. 1Beat egg yolks until blended.
  2. 2Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar.
  3. 3Beat at high speed until thick and lemon-colored.
  4. 4Stir in milk.
  5. 5Stir in rum, bourbon, vanilla, and salt.
  6. 6Chill thoroughly.
  7. 7Whip the cream.
  8. 8Wash beaters well.
  9. 9Beat egg whites in a large mixer bowl until soft peaks form.
  10. 10Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
  11. 11Beat to stiff peaks.
  12. 12Fold the yolk mixture and whipped cream into the egg whites.
